Who are we?

Deborah Cipriani and Cathy Dalgleish have over 40 combined years of experience caring for our wonderful skunks. Both have made helping skunks live a longer, healthier and happier life. Their life-long mission is helping any skunk owner in need of assistance with their pet. That assistance can be in the form of answering questions on diet, health or behavioral issues; as new, or even seasoned skunk parents, deal with parenting questions. SkunkHaven is available to help 24/7/365.

In addition, these gals welcome any veterinarian to contact them to help their skunk patient(s). Over the years, SkunkHaven has worked with their veterinarians to collect data on health statistics and blood norms that have been instrumental in saving the lives of many skunks throughout the years. This database continues to evolve as they collect more data.

For over sixteen years, Deb and Cathy each had rehab permits to care and release wild skunks. Due to a change in Ohio's laws, after rehabbing wild skunks for ten years, Deborah had to make a choice between continuing to care for wild skunks, or caring for domestic skunks. She chose the domestic skunks ... and has never looked back.

SkunkHaven, which is one of the few legally licensed pet skunk rescues in the world, has continued to maintain federal and state permits for more than eighteen years.

Some of SkunkHaven's representatives in other states have their own wild rehab permits, along with their perspective state and federal permits, which allow for the care and release of wild skunks, as well as taking in pet skunk rescues. All of our reps are experienced in skunk care.

We are here to help you with whatever your skunk needs may be. If you have come to the difficult decision to relinquish your skunk for any reason, please call SkunkHaven. We are always here to help you and your skunk.

SkunkHaven is a sanctuary for pet skunks. There have been numerous occasions when SkunkHaven has been asked to take in the pet skunk of a person who has fallen ill or of a family member who has passed away. Skunks in this situation are brought to SkunkHaven to live a quiet, peaceful life in a home where they will be cared for and loved.

We educate the public on wild and domestic skunks through the skunk awareness programs we provide.

We are a NO KILL Pet Skunk Rescue.
